Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. It is called the co-capital, and is usually called the “Nymph” of the Thermaic Gulf. It has many archeological sites and museums in and around the city and many other attractions nearby (an hour or two drive), such as Halkidiki (main tourist resort), Mount Athos monastic state and Mount Olympus.
